... since I wrote anything on this blog. Almost two years, alas.
Right now I'm finishing a page I'd meant to write ages ago, on how it IS possible to cook whole foods even if, like most of us, you're a busy, busy person. If you haven't at least skimmed my pages on unprocessed foods (they're listed over there in the left column), I hope you'll do so. The final page should be up within a day or two.
Don't have much news from the homestead. We had a pretty good strawberry crop this year, which was lovely, as last year's didn't amount to much. On the other hand, our asparagus crop was nothing to brag about.
Of the herbs I planted, the oregano is doing well--it's Greek oregano, so aromatic and flavorful--and it's doing well mainly because James erected a fence around it. Last year I planted some and the bunnies got all 6 plants. I planted 8 parsley plants a few weeks ago, but they didn't last long ... looked out the window one day and there wasn't a leaf to be seen. Ah well, I guess the bunnies have to eat! Just not the oregano ...
I still have not transplanted my basil seedlings into the herb garden. We had some cool weather for a while there, and basil really does not like temps down in the 40s. It's plenty hot now, though, so hopefully I'll get those in the ground today.
I am really hoping to get back into the blogging. The last few years have been rough in terms of stress and loss, but I'm thinking I might be a bit closer to my old self.
We'll see.
